The red spires of this monument radiate brilliant colors with the low sun angle of early evening. I loved the sliver of light on the edge and flat tops of the spires. I was inspired to paint with brilliant hues and leave the white of the paper for highlights in order to emphasize these qualities in both the rock formations and the folliage.
This painting received 3rd Place at Artists Alpine Exhibition.
